…and we’re guilty of it, too. So, that’s why we and our sister stations decided to bring you “The Best of Lake Charles,” a one-stop reference to the best ol’ Lake Chuck has to offer. Keep checking back on this page regularly to see what we’ve added. And feel free to comment below to tell us where we’re wrong or what we should add. Like life, “The Best of Lake Charles” is a work in progress!
Sometimes, you have to do a little digging to find the great stuff hiding in your hometown. And that’s just because you take things for granted — after a while, you think you know your town so well. BUT, every now and then, you surprise yourself and realize there’s been a hidden gem hanging around all along.
If Louisiana is known as the nation’s place to party, Lake Charles has plenty to offer in that arena. There’s no shortage of “bon temps” to “rouler” here.
You can’t start the morning without it … unless you’re some kind of superhuman — in which case, don’t talk to us. We need our coffee. This is where we go when we want the best cuppa Joe Lake Chuck has to offer.
Family fun — that’s what it’s all about, right? After you have all that coffee (see above), take the kids somewhere cool.
Not everywhere is pet-friendly. For those times when Fido is going stir-crazy indoors, it helps to know where to take him (or her).
There’s no problem in Lake Charles when it comes to meeting new single people! We have an abundance of places to party and hang out. Most of the people who come to Lake Charles to visit say we have hot and sexy people like they never seen before! Here’s where to go to find them.
The last thing you want to do on Mother’s Day is stand in a long wait at a pricey restaurant and still be disappointed when the food comes. Let us take that anxiety away from you.
If your dad is anything like ours, he’ll eat anywhere. Still, it’s Father’s Day — show some initiative and get him an impressive spread. When he has to un-notch his belt, you’ll know you’ve done well.
Your girl is finally marrying the man of her dreams (you hope), so send her off with a night she’ll remember. While you could visit any one of these spots, the night will likely take you to all of them at one point or another … if you’re doing it right.
Ya boy is tying on the ol’ ball and chain — where you gonna take him? These places should be on your list — and you should probably save No. 1 for last.
Get your snorkels, flippers, floaties and suntan lotion out. We’re taking a dip in Lake Chuck’s finest waters.
When you’ve sweated through your clothes and you’re stuck to the sofa, it’s probably a good idea to visit some of these places to lower that body temperature. Sure it means you’ll have to leave the house, but in the long run, it’ll be worth it.
